Cosmetic Dentistry

Modern dental materials and techniques make it easier and more predictable for patients to attain a beautiful smile than at any time in the past. Today's porcelain crowns and veneers allow our dentists to recreate the natural color and shape of teeth that may have lost their original luster due to stains, fractures or broken-down fillings. Not only are these new porcelain restorations very esthetic compared to their predecessors, but they are extremely strong.

Other techniques such as teeth bleaching, enamel re-shaping and orthodontic treatment can further enhance the appearance of one's teeth. With a few simple procedures, we can change your smile!

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain crowns are ceramic restorations that cover the entire chewing area of a tooth. Crowns are usually placed on to teeth that are too badly broken down to be repaired with a simple filling. Modern porcelain materials currently available allow a talented technician to create replacement teeth that are truly works of art. Many porcelain crowns are indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded onto individual teeth, in order to change the shape or color of the teeth. They are considered more conservative than porcelain crowns, because they require very minimal tooth reduction prior to placement. For many patients, this is the ideal method of improving the appearance of their front teeth.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth bleaching has become very popular lately with men and women of all ages. Teeth can be lightened through bleaching in several different ways.

Whitening Tray

Before bleaching

After bleaching

The most common form of bleaching involves the use of a precision-fitted tray and a concentrated bleaching gel. The bleaching gel is placed into the tray and the tray is then seated over the teeth. The tray and bleaching material usually remain on the teeth for several hours per day. Some patients prefer to wear their bleaching appliances during the daytime, when they are awake; and others prefer to wear them at bedtime. In either case the result is a brighter, whiter smile.

Enamel Reshaping

Enamoplasty: Modern porcelain veneers, crowns, or tooth colored fillings provide dentists an excellent means by which to change the appearance of unsightly teeth, but these treatments aren't always necessary. Sometimes, teeth can be restored to their original, natural beauty though careful tooth reshaping. The photos below show teeth with no cosmetic restorations whatsoever. Instead, these teeth were re-contoured though precise enamel reshaping. This is essentially a selective sanding and polishing process that is painless, quick and relatively inexpensive.

Clear Correct

If you’re a good candidate for clear aligners, your doctor will take photos and x-rays, use a scanner or impressions to capture the shape of your teeth, and submit your prescription to ClearCorrect. We’ll make a series of aligners customized to apply pressure to the teeth that you want to move. Your doctor will check your progress periodically and give you new sets of aligners. You’ll wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day, progressing through each step until your treatment is done.
